of young people from La Porte, Michigan City and the surrounding areas and totals 85 members with 37 in the brass section, 19 in the percussion section, 16 in the color guard, 8 rifles, 3 in the American Flag section, one Color Guard Sergeant and one Drum Major.
With an increase of membership, 1976 should prove to be the Corps' most successful season in recent years. The Cadets present an all new musical show featuring "Overture In Pop Style" as their opener; "El Gato Triste" , a Chuck Mangione number - into concert; "Conquistadors" , a Don Ellis number - for concert; and "Could It Be Magic" a popular song recorded by Barry Manilow - as the closer.
Brass Arrangers are Jim Ott and Dick Moon and Brass Instructors are Perry McCarty and Tom Holets. Percussion Instructors are Don Kolenda, Charles Lawrence, and Al Miller. Color Guard and Marching & Maneuvering Instructors are Tom Lotter, Dave Snyder, Pat Mahler, Terry Barth, and Karla Barth. Corps Manager is Tom Lotter and Ed Sliwa is the Quartermaster. The Color Guard Sergeant is Pauline Dettmer and Dave Zeese is the Drum Major.
The Cadets are the only competing Drum & Bugle Corps from Indiana and travel thousands of miles annually throughout the U.S.A. and Canada as it's "Musical Ambassadors" . "
