Cadence, a junior marching and maneuvering corps based in Reading, Berkshire, UK, was formed from the remnants of several smaller groups in the early 1990s. The corps reached DCUK A Class Finals in 1995 and won the A Class Championship the next year.

After a merger of the Raiders of Guilford with Cadence in 1997, the combined corps (called Cadence) reached sixth place in open competition, and building on that success, took the Open Class DCUK Championship in 1999.

In 2000, with a program built around the powerful "Belzhazzar's Feast," Cadence finished second in a hotly contested finish, followed by another second in 2001. In 2002, undergoing a transitional year, the corps placed fourth in the DCUK Championships. The corps was one of the most improved groups in 2003, moving back up to second place, with a show entitled "Chiaroscuro."
