Heat Wave of Florida

The Heat Wave of Florida Drum and Bugle Corps is an Open Class competitive junior drum and bugle corps based in Inverness, Florida.

In June 2014, Lou Labetti, Dik Beulow, Jon Otero and Benny Pisani decided to start a new drum and bugle corps in west central Florida. They formed an organization and began acquiring instruments and doing those many things needed for starting up any new venture.

On May 5, 2015, following a period of evaluation of the unit's finances, staffing, and tour plans by Drum Corps International's staff, Heat Wave was one of three corps that were added to the list of competing Open Class corps and was added to DCI's summer schedule for two shows in Alabama and Georgia.

In 2016, Heat Wave performed in seven DCI competitions in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Florida. In 2017, the corps competed in five DCI competitions with one other rained out.

For 2018, Heat Wave of Florida will attend the DCI World Championships in Indiana for the first time.
