Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps is a World Class competitive junior drum and bugle corps based in Austin, Texas.

Genesis was founded in September, 2009 by Chris Magonigal, Dillon Ingle, Aaron Sandoval, and Robert Flores in the Rio Grande Valley. After the group's organizational stability was evaluated, Drum Corps International (DCI) announced that Genesis was approved to compete in the 2010 competitive season. In its inaugural season, Genesis premiered at home in Texas then toured to Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio en route to the DCI Open Class World Championships in Michigan City, Indiana where the 69 member corps placed 9th of 16 corps. Following that initial campaign, Genesis' staff made the decision to have each season be a "rebirth of the corps" that would combine new genres of music and visual ideas with the traditional drum corps idiom.

The 76 member 2011 Genesis took 6th place in Open Class and 30th in World Class prelims, and the corps won DCI's "Most Improved Open Class Corps" award. With 84 members in 2012, the corps again placed 6th in Open Class before moving on to finish 29th in World Class prelims.

In 2013, the corps grew to 113 members, and its "mOZaic" program, which featured music from several different "Oz" sources vaulted the corps to a 3rd-place finish at DCI Open Class Championships (trailing only two three-time champions of the class--- the Vanguard Cadets and the Blue Devils B). Genesis then competed in the DCI World Class World Championships at Indianapolis, advanced to semifinals, placed 23rd, earned full DCI membership, and won the "Most Improved World Class Corps" award. Chris Magonigal was named DCI's Open Class Director of the Year.

On January 17, 2014, Genesis announced that the corps was moving its operations from Edinburg to Austin, Texas. Posting on the corps’ website, corps director Chris Magonigal stated: “With its centralized location, dedication to the arts, and its financial possibilities, Austin is the perfect city from which to operate our program.“

At the annual DCI meeting on January 27, 2017, Genesis was approved to compete as a World Class corps.
