The Smithtown Freelancers, formed in 1956, was a junior marching and maneuvering corps based in Smithtown, New York. They were sponsored by their own parents‘ organization.

Awards included the 1957 New York State Standstill Championship and the 1961 New York State American Legion Color Guard Championship.

Wayne Downey, legendary designer for the Concord Blue Devils and other corps, marched with the Freelancers in the late 1960s.
