Pioneer Scouts

As warm weather arrives in the Greater Lebanon Valley of Pennsylvania, the Pioneer Scouts Jr. Drum and Bugle Corps and Explorer Post 558 are putting the final touches to their 1982 field show. The 1981 Garden State Circuit intermediate champions will enter the open division of Garden State this year and will compete in the class A division of Drum Corps International.
The Pioneer Scouts 1982 repertoire will include Ray Eyler's arrangements of Miserlou OTL, a medley from the musical Fame, a concert of Chuck Mangione's Enchano, and an exit of Concerto. Percussion arrangements by John Rozum will feature Chuck Mangione's And in the Beginning and Don Ellis' Freedom Seven. Percussion assistants are Walt Omelchenko and Mark Allen. Drill design will be handled by Rick Adams, who will also assist with the brass section. Kathy Keefer will be in charge of the color guard and will assist with the marching program. Sharing the responsibilities of drum major for the corps will be Christi Ondrejicka and Lee Ann Bomberger.
The corps will perform throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Michigan, Ontario and Quebec. The highlight of the season will be a sixteen-day tour, with the corps competing in the American International, DCI North, DCI Canada, and the DCI Championships in Montreal."
