The Amvet Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps were founded in 1960 by the Amvets Post #51.

The first appearance of the corps was on November 11, 1961 as a parade corps in the Randolph Veteran’s Day Parade and the Boston Veteran’s Day Parade.

In 1962, the Brigadiers were one of the founding corps of the Mayflower Circuit. The first Mayflower contest was held at Randolph High School football field. The corps became the very first Mayflower State Circuit Class ‘B’ Champions.  They also won the Amvet National Drum & Bugle Corp Competion in 1962, held in New York City.

In 1963, making it a second year in a row the Brigadiers won the Mayflower State Circuit Class ‘B’ Championship.

In 1965, the corps sponsored by the Randolph Industries Commission, appeared in exhibition at the New York’s World Fair.

In 1968, the Brigadiers placed second in the World Open Class ‘B’ Championship, went on to tie for 1st place in the Eastern Mass Circuit Class B standing and won the Mayflower State Circuit Class ‘B’ Championship.

The corps in 1971 won the Mayflower State Finals and also became the 1971 Eastern Mass Circuit Champions. The corp also appeared in the World Open, placing 11th for the second year in a row.

In 1974, the Amvet Brigadiers in their 14th year were out to gain as much success as they have in the past.
