CORPS Photos

The corps was formed from elements of the Madison Heights Marauders and Royal Lancers Drum Corps, both from Southeast Michigan and previously bitter rivals and contenders for state championships. Many other members were from the Flint Guardsmen and area High Schools.

Their innovative shows and field presentation pushed the envelope for early drum corps and many of their inspirations were seen in drum corps several years later.

This open class corps marched in GLDCA and DCI shows in 1973 and 1974 but unfortunately ceased fielding a corps after the 1974 season.

The Iron Brigade Drum Corps was named after the famous Iron Brigade's 24th Michigan Regiment from the Civil War and their uniforms followed along with the Civil War theme as well as their brass and percussion scores, which included selections from "American Civil War Fantasy".
