The Allegheny Monarchs were a merger of the Vern Acklin Cavaliers and the Sharpsburg Cadets. The drum corps was active for only one year in 1967. The corps was from the Allegheny region within the Pittsburgh area. The directors of the Monarchs were Paul Dachille, Don Kretzer, and Tom Mahan. The Cadets and Cavaliers were very competitive before the merger and the make-up of the drum corps was also extremely competitive. That may have led to the corps inactivity the following year.
