The corps was sponsored by Rome (NY) VFW Post 2246 and was the immediate replacement for the Rome Cavaliers who disbanded, primarily because of the advancing age of it's members and the imminent move toward youth. Richard 'Ritch' Mitchell was the drum instructor. David Bowers was the horn instructor.
