The Buckeye Drum & Bugle Corps was organized in Oct 1969 and named Cleveland's Marching Ambassadors in 1970. Again in 1972 Mayor Ralph Perk named April 12th as Buckeye Day and again proclaimed the Buckeyes as Cleveland's Ambassadors. The Buckeyes were sponsored by the American Legion Theodore Roosevelt Post 469; by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Andrew Bachleda Post 2850 and by the Booster Club.
