The Oakland Rangers, formed in 1959, was a junior marching and maneuvering and parade corps based in Oakland, New Jersey. They were sponsored by Oakland Memorial American Legion Post 369.

The corps was founded by Carmen Parete and his wife, Marie. Mr. Parete was the only director the corps ever had in its 37-year history.

The corps’ colors were black, white, and turquoise.

One of the charter members of the Garden State Circuit, the Rangers were circuit champions in 1965.

The corps remained active except for a couple of seasons until Mrs. Parete’s illness forced disbandment in 1996. Some 3000 participants are believed to have passed through the Rangers’ ranks in the 37 years of its existence.
