"The Golden Rays Drum & Bugle Corps is a newly-formed organization now being operated under the auspices of American Legion Post #89 in Stoughton, Mass. Organized in April of 1961 under the adult supervision of William McLaughlin, Frank Ruggiero, and Robert Harrigan, the unit has grown to a group of approximately 70 members, including a 16-girl Color Guard. The average age of the unit is 10. The Golden Rays are hoping to enter field competition in the near future, and they are available immediately for any and all parade commitments. Their business manager may be reached by calling FI 4- xxxx in Stoughton."
