The N. D.-ettes All Girl Drum and Bugle Corps was founded in October 1963 by Notre Dame Girls High School of Bridgeport, CT.
The corps originally was a parade corps for local events and school activities.
In 1965 and 1966, the corps was invited to march up 5th Ave.in New York City's St. Patrick's Day parade and were seen on New York TV.
Starting in 1966, the corps decided they were ready for competition and joined the Greater New York M&M circuit competing in the Tri-State area of NY, NJ and CT.
In 1967 the corps competed for the first time in the World Open in Lynn, MA, coming in 28th in prelims.
1968 the corps was invited to Montreal, Canada to appear in EXPO and as an exhibition corps in Drummondville, Que. At the World Open in Lynn, the corps moved up to 20th place.
The corps moved into National competition in 1969, participating with the best corps in the country at the VFW Nationals in Philadelphia PA.
At the World Open that year, the corps placed 13th out of 41 corps in prelims and captured the ALL GIRL corps trophy that same day.
With the successes of the previous year, in 1970 the N.D.-ettes decided to take the corps on a national tour to the U S Open in Marion,OH, where the corps won the US Open All Girl title. Later that season they repeated as World Open All Girl Champions and ended that year with the Greater NY Circuit All Girl title., the Trifecta of All Girls championships.
Due to many seniors graduating after the 1970 season, the corps began rebuilding years in 1971 and 1972, participating in winter guard shows and local parades.
In 1973, the N. D.-ettes ceased operations.
