Using the ! (exclamation point) as a logo and dressed in yellow and black, Impulse offers an irreverent fun-filled performance reminiscent of Velvet Knights and Bridgemen. The 2002 show featured an I Love Lucy lookalike yearning to be part of the corps. Impulse was tenth in Division II/III finals in 2003.

The corps relocated from Anaheim to Buena Park in 2004. The show, called 'Bright Ideas,' earned them a sixth-place finish in DCI Division II/III Finals.

Impulse is sponsored by the Impulse Youth Arts Organization, with strong support from Cerritos College, which offers credit for corps participation. In addition to Impulse, the Youth Arts Organization sponsors Rhythm Regiment, a drum and brass corps for ages 3-13; SoCal Dream Senior Drum & Bugle Corps; and Mystikal Percussion Theater.
